Frequently asked
What is AskMoritz?
AskMoritz hears an "appeal" — a decision or dilemma you describe in your own words — and returns a "verdict": Upheld, Overturned, or Remanded, with Moritz's reasoning. It's a dry, considered second opinion for everyday calls. Rulings are AI-generated and meant for entertainment, not as professional advice.
How are verdicts decided?
Your appeal, together with any Precedent and Chambers preferences you've set, is passed to an AI model that composes Moritz's ruling. Because it's automated, a verdict may be off the mark — take it in the spirit it's given. If a ruling seems wrong, you can always file a fresh appeal.
Is my data private? What do you collect?
We collect your account email, the appeals and notes you create, and limited technical data to keep the app running. We don't sell your data or use it for advertising. The full details — including our AI provider and where data is stored — are in the Privacy Policy.
How do I delete my account and data?
Open the app and go to Chambers → Account → Delete Account, then confirm. This permanently erases your profile, appeals, verdicts, and precedent, and removes your sign-in record. It's immediate and can't be undone. If you can't access the app, email us and we'll take care of it.
I forgot my password.
On the sign-in screen, choose Forgot password? and enter your email. You'll receive a reset link. If you originally signed in with Google, use the "Sign in with Google" button instead — there's no separate password to reset.
Why does "Moritz's Lunch" show Frankfurt?
Lunch recommendations are anchored to a single, fixed office location in Frankfurt and use Apple Maps to find nearby venues. The app never reads your location and asks for no location permission — so the neighbourhood stays the same wherever you are.
Is AskMoritz affiliated with a bank?
No. AskMoritz is an independent app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any bank, financial institution, or any real person named "Moritz." "Moritz" is a fictional persona.
How do I report a bug or suggest a feature?
We'd genuinely like to hear it. Email theo@proudforus.com with what happened (or what you'd like to see), your device model, and your iOS version.
